NEVER WITHOUT MOLESKINE

The first thing I say during my creative writing courses is to start using a notebook, beloved and best friend of every writer. Bruce Chatwin, Simone de Beauvoir, Cesare Pavese, Anais Nin and Lalla Romano had one, and they all turned their diaries into books. My favorite are Moleskine notebook. Their empty and blank pages make you want to write your thoughts. Maybe one day they'll became important not only for you but also for others. Maybe someone will decide to stay home one evening, to put his iPad away in a drawer and to start feeling the same way you felt one day with the rain pouring outside.

MAI SENZA MOLESKINE. La prima cosa che insegno nei miei corsi di scrittura creativa è l'utilizzo di un taccuino, compagno inseparabile di ogni scrittore. Lo usava Bruce Chatwin, Simone de Beauvoir, Cesare Pavese, Anais Nin, Lalla Romano, tanto per citare alcuni taccuini famosi trasformati da diario in libro. I miei preferiti restano i Moleskine. Ci si annotano molte cose in quelle pagine bianche, che già a vederle ti vien voglia di sporcarle con i tuoi pensieri. 

Per te diventeranno importanti e forse anche per altri. Per qualcuno che aveva voglia proprio di sentire le tue parole e solo in quel momento lì. In una sera che non sarebbe uscito, che avrebbe riposto l'iPad in un cassetto e spento la tv. E nei tuoi pensieri si sarebbe riconosciuto. 

In quello stesso stato d'animo che avevi tu, un pomeriggio di pioggia battente, quando hai preso il taccuino dalla borsa e in attimo lo hai raccontato.

Mi piace. E in qualche modo nasce per noi. Per quelli che ci mettono dentro gli astucci e i Moleskine. Per chi ci infila i taccuini degli appunti, un registratore per i pensieri, un libro sottolineato. Nasce per noi che abbiamo cose da dire e le scriviamo. Per noi che ogni momento sarà per sempre, per noi che prendiamo una penna e immaginiamo mondi. Nasce per quelli che dentro ci mettono i manoscritti e chissà un giorno diventeranno libri. E sarebbe nata anche per me. Che appoggio le borse sopra le scrivanie di ogni parte del mondo. Per tutti i viaggi che andrò a fare. Lei sarebbe con me. A raccontare e contenere storie. Sarebbe la borsa delle mie storie, ecco.

For us that every moment will be forever and we dream and create other worlds. For those who have manuscripts and dream of publishing! And this bag is for me and all the desks in the world I would throw it on. All the travels I will go on this bag will be with me to keep my stories.

#OUTFIT. I QUADERNI PER GLI APPUNTI

Ogni volta che parto per qualche avventura, ma spesso anche quando mi muovo in città, ho con me un quaderno per gli appunti. Una delle mie manie è sceglierlo fra i tanti che possiedo, ad esempio per la #mfw ho portato il quaderno di Freud. Giusto per allinearmi al mood di quei giorni.
Non posso entrare in una cartoleria che spendo un capitale, mi piacciono tantissimo le agende e i taccuini. Fra i miei preferiti c'è il mitico Moleskine, ma anche Légami e My Red Book. E voi? Quale quaderno usate?

Every time I leave for some adventure, but often when I move into the city, I have with me a notebook for notes. One of my obsessions is choose among the many who have, for example for the #mfw I brought the book of Freud. Just to align myself with the mood of those days. I can not go to a stationery store that I spend a capital, I really like agendas and notebooks. Among my favorites is the legendary Moleskine, but also Légami and My Red Book. And you? Which book do you use?
